There are so many differences when living overseas. Having an expectation that things will be the same or similar is going to leave you feeling disappointed.
So let’s get the sentence “ ______ is very different than in the US” out of the way. I don’t need to keep saying that as I tell you about my time in the UAE (United Arab Emirates). I am going to write about all different parts of life here. Short stories, long stories, quick updates, pictures of the popular places to see, and lots of other random stuff.
The UAE is in the Middle East and is made up of seven independent city-states: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Umm al-Qaiwain, Fujairah, Ajman and Ra’s al-Khaimah. Each state is unique in its own way. I am living in Abu Dhabi – which just happens to be the capital. 🙂 In its entirety, UAE borders Saudi Arabia on the south and west and Oman on the north and east.
